Biography of Giada De Laurentiis
Giada Pamela De Laurentiis is a well-known Italian-American culinary expert, author, and television host. She is best known for her cooking shows, including "Behind the Bash", "Giada's Weekend Getaways", "Giada in Paradise", and "Giada at Home" on the Food Network. She also regularly appears as a co-host on the "Today" show on NBC and is the founder of the culinary company "GDL Foods".
Early Life
Giada Pamela De Laurentiis was born on August 22, 1970, in Rome, Italy. She is the eldest child of actress Veronica De Laurentiis and her first husband, actor-producer Alex De Benedetti, who had a close relationship with Veronica's father, the film producer Dino De Laurentiis. After her parents divorced, Giada and her siblings moved to Southern California and took their mother's surname.
Giada graduated from Marymount High School and earned a Bachelor's degree in Social Anthropology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 1996.
Personal Life
In 2003, Giada married Todd Thompson, a fashion designer for the retail chain "Anthropologie". They had been dating since 1991, and their first child was born in March 2008.
Culinary Career
Giada, a self-proclaimed lover of chocolate and sweets, attended Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, where she became a master pastry chef. After returning to the United States, she worked as a chef in several Los Angeles restaurants, including the Wolfgang Puck-owned Spago. She later became a culinary stylist and was invited to join the Food Network after decorating dishes for "Food & Wine" magazine in 2002. Her television show "Everyday Italian" debuted on the network in 2003.

Apart from "Everyday Italian", Giada has hosted various other cooking shows. In "Behind the Bash", she showcases the preparation of dishes for major events such as the Grammy Awards.
